The Story Behind WorkTNote
Hello! I’m the developer of WorkTNote.
I’d like to share a little about what inspired me to create this app.
As a systems engineer, I’m constantly juggling different tools.
I carry a laptop with me, jot down notes in a physical planner, write memos in Notepad on my PC, and manage tasks with an online ToDo app.
Like many people, I was switching between different methods just to get things done.
At first, I relied on the built-in Notepad in Windows—it’s quick and easy for simple notes.
But over time, I began to feel its limitations:
- You have to name each file when saving
- Files are saved in random folders, so they’re easy to lose
- Copying and pasting content into a ToDo app takes time
I got used to it and thought, “Well, that’s just how it is.”
But then I realized—maybe this inconvenience was preventing me from properly recording important things.
The real challenge was managing my notes.
Some were written in notebooks, some saved as text files, others scattered across folders…
When I needed to look something up, it took forever to find where I wrote it.
At the same time, I was managing my tasks in a separate online ToDo app.
But because my notes and tasks were divided, it felt disconnected and awkward.
That’s when it hit me:
“Wouldn’t it be so much easier if memos and tasks were combined into one app?”
I looked around, but most apps were focused solely on task management.
Many required an internet connection or cloud sync—which didn’t suit my preference for offline usability.
So I thought: “Why not build one myself?”
That was the beginning of WorkTNote.
The app I envisioned:
- Instantly jot down ideas the moment they come
- Easy and intuitive to write and add notes
- Turn memos into ToDos directly
- See which memos are tasks at a glance
- Keep completed tasks well-organized
The core concept is “From Memo to Task.”
As I developed it, I started to believe:
“There must be others facing the same struggle.”
So I decided to release it publicly.
If WorkTNote can support your work or everyday life in any way, I’d be truly happy.
I hope it becomes a useful companion for you too.
This document was originally written in WorkTNote itself.
